I feel impelled to testify to the healing of my sixteen-year-old daughter, who was treated for tubercular disease by the physicians in an infirmary. Four weeks after the operation the girl was placed in the room for incurable patients, and I felt I must have a talk with the physician. He told me, with a shrug of his shoulders and a doubting expression on his face, that she would not be able to take up her work for quite a while, that this disease was very stubborn and lingering and could not be cured completely anyway. While my daughter was in this condition, I took her home and had Christian Science treatment given her. To our surprise the journey home was effected without difficulty; she even walked for an hour on that day, whereas the physicians would not allow her to get up. She grew stronger with every day, and did the work in the house she was capable of. During the time she was having treatment some old conditions tried to manifest themselves, such as doubt, distrust, and weakness, but with the understanding gained through Christian Science everything became new; that is, I became convinced that Spirit has all power and can bring all things to pass; that God is All, and that He is good.
Our daughter now is well and in April of last year began to learn the dressmaker's trade. For the blessed help which I have received through Christian Science I am very grateful indeed, and am earnestly striving to live and work according to its teachings. Christian Science is indeed the only way to salvation whereby God heals all our diseases. I would also like to express my heartfelt gratitude to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for all the good and the blessings which the members of my family have experienced.—Rudolf Widmer, Brugg, Ct. Aargau, Switzerland.
