For nearly three years I suffered from a form of paralysis...

For nearly three years I suffered from a form of paralysis and its attendant ills. During this time I was under the constant care of various medical systems, and left them only when word was passed that they held nothing further for me. Reduced greatly in weight, exhausted physically and mentally, without understanding, faith, or belief, but in sheer desperation, I came to Christian Science solely for physical help. One treatment practically healed me, although it took me about a week to realize the fact. Ever since this regeneration I have been trying to gain a knowledge of the saving healing Principle, and in this continued effort to grasp and prove the Christianly scientific verity that God's man, Mind's idea, His "image and likeness" is "thoroughly furnished unto all good works," or, as Christian Science restates it, God's man is "incapable of sin, sickness, and death" (Science and Health, p. 475), I have been able to gain some glimpses of man's unity with God and the unbroken harmony and eternality of the divine economy. The effort to efface self and render unto God His own, one's entire consciousness, is not without its struggles—error seems to die hard; but the right idea, the Christ-idea, is leading and will forever continue to lead us all to higher mental altitudes and to freedom—freedom from all fear, ignorance, sin, disease, death. For my physical healing and this knowledge, I give to God and His Science my thanks and my gratitude.
