Christian Scientists accept Jesus Christ as the divine Son...

Charlotte (N. C.) News

Christian Scientists accept Jesus Christ as the divine Son of God and are striving to follow Him in all his teachings and commands. They believe in one omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, universal, eternal God, that changeth not; "who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; who redeemeth thy life from destruction."

The statement of an honest, intelligent Christian Scientist as to what he believes is entitled to just as much credence as the statement of any other honest, intelligent citizen. It is impossible to take from the teachings of Jesus the command to heal the sick, and Christian Scientists accept without reserve the obligation imposed to strive faithfully to overcome disease as well as sin, and to do this by one and the same divine power. This is in accordance with what Jesus meant when he said, "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing."

Mrs. Eddy has spent the larger part of a long and useful life in working unselfishly for the good of mankind, and the good she has accomplished is being universally recognized. Christian Science teachings, as set forth in her book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," are based on the fundamental teachings of the Bible from a spiritual standpoint; and in respect to matter, sin, disease, marriage, divorce, evil, etc., are strictly in accord with the teachings of Jesus and the apostles, and therefore in accord with the highest moral law.
