About three years ago I found it necessary to go to a dentist, who after an examination said that two teeth needed to be extracted. Ever since I had become a student of Christian Science, I had always made my own demonstrations at such times, but after being seated in the chair the thought came to me that I should ask for help, and I immediately telephoned to a practitioner, stating what was about to occur. I speak of this as a proof that divine Love is always ready to "meet every human need" (Science and Health, p. 494). The first tooth came without any difficulty, but when the forceps were placed on the second, the dentist explained that the roots were interlocked with a sound tooth in such a manner that the operation would be extremely trying and painful, and he urged me to go to a specialist and have an anesthetic administered. Much to his surprise I refused, telling him it was not necessary, as I had something far better. I asked him to go on with the work, which he finally consented to do. The dentist feared greatly that the roots would break instead of unlocking, but it was not so, as the tooth was removed intact. I shall never forget his look and manner as he said, "You have had a divine dispensation, a divine dispensation." During this trying time I seemed to be lifted far above the sense of suffering, and fully realized that God's idea could not be hurt.

This is just one of the many proofs I have had of the all-power of God and the powerlessness of evil, and this understanding is made available to every one by the teachings of Mrs. Eddy in that wonderful book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." The longer I study this Science, the more I am impressed with the rare wisdom and great spirituality of our beloved Leader, and stand in awe as I gain a clearer sense of the magnitude of her life of self-sacrifice and toil, which has again made Christian healing possible. Christian Scientists cannot be too grateful to God for the ministrations through which these great blessings have come to our age.
