I would like to express my gratitude for Christian Science...

I would like to express my gratitude for Christian Science and my love for the one who through such consecration and self-sacrificing toil has given to a suffering world this perfect Science, through which may be gained the knowledge of Him "who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases."

In March, 1901, the last physician of many who had tried to cure me of numerous ills of the flesh, organic and functional, said he could do nothing for me. With the loss of all faith in material ways and means, I turned hopefully to Christian Science, which had been urged upon me for nine months. During this time I had been reading the Sentinel and Journal, and other Christian Science literature sent to me by a kind friend. I applied to a practitioner for treatment, and immediately experienced wonderful relief. The healing was gradual; but now I can gratefully say that it has been six and a half years I have lost an hour from my daily duties on account of illness. I cannot be too grateful for having been patiently and lovingly led out of the darkness.

Through spiritual regeneration and physical healing, life has taken on a new aspect for me, and I could never recount all the blessings which have come to me through Christian Science, for each day brings added ones. Not the least of them is the peace and harmony, and a higher and larger sense of love experienced at the Christmas season. Five years ago, after reading "A Question" and "Christmas as in Christian Science," by our Leader, and published in the Sentinel of Dec. 16, 1905, I realized that I could be free from the bondage of material giving, which had become very burdensome. The mad rush, anxiety, and excitement at this season had each year resulted for me in an attack of illness, and the Christmas season was anything but a holiday to me. When Mrs. Eddy's articles were published in the Sentinel I was so ready for them that I cannot express the joy and relief I experienced. Since then, the time I had formerly spent in the popular observance of Christmas I spend in realizing the allness of God and the nothingness of matter, and in trying to gain a higher sense of the peace and harmony and love taught in Christian Science.
