THE TRUE LOVE

Perhaps one of the first things a young student in Christian Science is inspired to think about is the difference between the thing called "love" in the worldly sense and that known as "love" in Christian Science. Wandering forlorn along their stumbling way, mortals are taught that love shall make all the rest worth while. Men and women, they have grown up hungry-hearted for that celestial bread which is to satisfy. They weave many dreams about it, put wreaths before the empty alter, and later they place thereon, with tears and smiles, the image which they believe shall henceforth be to them all that their thought has pictured; but, alas! too often

Love is a golden bubble, full of dreams
That waking breaks and fills us with extremes.
