For the benefit of those who may be seeking after...

For the benefit of those who may be seeking after Truth, and from a thankful heart, I wish to give a short summary of what Christian Science has done for me. Since young womanhood I was an almost constant sufferer, and I steadily grew worse, until about two years ago. By the advice of the best physicians I went to a hospital, where I submitted to a dangerous and painful operation, in the hope that my health might be restored; but I received no benefit thereby. In addition to these ills, complications of bronchial and stomach trouble appeared. I was not allowed by physicians to eat anything but the very lightest diet, and even that seemed to distress me.

I took medicine until drugs lost their seeming power, and I was condemned by the doctors (I had five of them) to die, unless I left the town, as they said the very air of this place was poison to me. I had been confined to my room and bed for weeks. As a last resort, by the advice of a friend, I called in a Christian Science practitioner (December, 1907), though at the time I had no confidence in this method. After the first treatment I ate anything I wanted without any bad effect, and in two or three weeks' treatment I was entirely healed.

Since that time my whole family has been greatly benefited by the knowledge of the truth as taught in Christian Science, which has been our only remedy. While we have not reached that perfect sense of love which casteth out all fear, still we are pressing on toward the mark. My heart overflows with gratitude to God,—and to Mrs. Eddy, our dear Leader.—Mrs. T. R. Green, Memphis, Tenn.
