In my work I need an acute vision as well as a steady hand, but both of these had greatly diminished. I thought that the trouble was caused through smoking, which bad habit I had not been able to get rid of, despite all my efforts. I then heard of Christian Science, also that many a smoker had been healed through its ministry, and I therefore decided to give it a trial. After I had attended a few Sunday services and Wednesday evening meetings, I became convinced that the physical defects were the minor evils which would disappear in due time, if only I tried to have purer thoughts and be a better man altogether. I then endeavored to think along these lines and to act accordingly, and I also applied to a practitioner for treatment. To my great joy I soon noticed that I had regained both the acute vision and the steady hand, while the tobacco habit disappeared without my becoming aware of it.

I cannot enumerate all the proofs of the power of divine Love which I have had up to this time, but I wish to testify to the fact that through Christian Science I have learned again to love and respect my fellow-beings; that I have also been able to overcome business difficulties easily, and have become prosperous. Peace has returned to my family, and my wife and I are more happy together than ever before; besides, I have made friends of people who formerly were my enemies. For all this I am thankful to God, and also to our beloved Leader.
