It is with great thankfulness that I testify to the blessing of complete restoration to health and strength received through Christian Science. During 1908, I was reduced to such a condition that it was supposed by my friends and the doctor attending me that it was only a question of a very short time when I must pass on, as no material remedy was of any avail, even in alleviating the pain. I was too far gone to know anything of my condition, and at this time my wife called in a Christian Science practitioner, with the result that with two treatments natural action of the bowels was restored, after four weeks of obstruction. Although in a very nervous condition, I soon began to get better; my appetite came, and I was able to eat, which I had not done for weeks. My mental condition gradually improved and in two weeks I was able to sit up and read a little while at a time. At the end of four weeks I was able to walk down town, a distance of half a mile, and in two months I could work. From that time on I continued to gain strength, without any return of the disease, and now I am working regularly at my occupation as a miner, in complete health and strength.

There is no way to attribute my recovery to any other cause than the application of the truth as explained by Mrs. Eddy in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and it is my earnest endeavor to acquire an understanding of her teachings for myself. I am indeed grateful to God for giving to us this truth through Mrs. Eddy.
