Our critic is wrong in his assumption regarding the teaching of Christian Science concerning the nature of sin, disease, and death. It teaches that these evils are not the result or effect of divine intelligence, or the Mind which is God, infinite good, and therefore that they are not real in the best sense of that word. It admits, however, that in the experience of mortals these evils are believed to exist, and that to the mortal or human sense they seem to be very real and very distressing. What Christian Science does teach is that all evil is destructible, and in that sense unreal. Christian Science practice is demonstrating the truth of this teaching by removing evil to an increasing extent from the experience of thousands upon thousands here and now.
