Christian Science establishes its claim to be the Christmethod...

Omaha (Neb.) World-Herald

Christian Science establishes its claim to be the Christmethod of salvation by doing the works enumerated in the last chapter of Mark. These "signs" were to follow all believers—that is, all who understand the teaching sufficiently to prove their faith by overcoming the numerous phases of evil. This system of salvation saves the community by arousing the individual to the necessity of reforming himself, and endues him with the understanding of the omnipotence of God, good, whereby he may achieve his purpose. Such an achievement improves the man and enhances his worth as a member of society.

The Christian Scientist esteems himself not less selfish than others, but less selfish than he was; he accounts himself not better than his neighbor, but better than before he began working out the problem of salvation through the understanding of Christian Science. Regeneration is slowly attained, but the student is richly compensated by spiritual growth.

Christian Science practice is not a trade, but a ministry, and its practitioners, combining the functions of physician and minister, should, like other humanitarians, receive a reasonable price for their services without adverse comment.
