For the manifold blessings I have received in Christian Science...
For the manifold blessings I have received in Christian Science I wish to express publicly my sincere gratitude. Christian Science was presented to me at a time when this world, with all its material remedies, offered not one ray of hope. For several years I had been half sick, and during this time I had been treated by many physicians. Following the advice of two of the best of them, I had an operation performed, and had not fully recovered from this when two members of my family were taken very ill, one case proving fatal; and the combined effects left me a complete wreck. It was then that Christian Science was presented to me and I took my first treatment, four years ago in April. I knew that nothing less than divine power could meet my need. The result was that stomach and bowel trouble of many years' standing was quickly overcome, while other much more serious conditions yielded very slowly.
For the encouragement of those who are having a slow healing, I will say that many weeks would pass at a time with seemingly no progress. I could not see one step ahead of me; all I could do was to do my very best every moment, and trust to Truth to guide me out of the wilderness of mortal beliefs. Before I was healed I had to learn that fear, discouragement, self-pity, and hate must be wiped out of my consciousness. It was not hate of any person, but vexation because of my slow healing. After I had learned that these errors had first to be overcome, and how to work for their overcoming, my progress was much more rapid. Surely God is our refuge and our strength. Neither tongue nor pen can ever express my gratitude to God, to the great Wayshower, and to Mrs. Eddy for this truth which heals all disease; also for the love and patience with which I have been helped.
Mrs. Delia Richardson, Grand Rapids, Mich.
