[Written for the Sentinel.]

"WITH THY LIKENESS."

When I awake in that glad morning light,
And find myself in harmony with God,—
Freed from earth sense, and one with good,—I shall
Exultant rise to walk on holy sod.
But is it death that brings this state of royal kin?
And must we pass to other worlds before
We can reflect, in deed and way and look,
The image of the Maker we adore?

Nay, 'tis the life of Truth and Love,—
When in all things the good alone we see,
We shall awake to find there is no death,
And with Thy likeness satisfied shall be.
