I had been sick more or less for twenty-five years, and from January until May, 1905, I was bedfast most of the time. One Sunday evening, when I was feeling very despondent and discouraged, neighbors who were Christian Scientists called, and during the evening my husband brought up the subject of Christian Science. I became quite interested in the conversation, and remarked that I thought I would have to take it up, as I had lost all faith in medicine. They said they would bring me some Christian Science Sentinels to read, which they did the next day. After reading them I was more interested than ever, and remarked to my husband that I could think of nothing but Christian Science, and believed I would like to take treatment, to which he consented. The same friends offered to loan us a copy of Science and Health, but my husband said we would buy one. We did so immediately, and I began to read it. After a few days we decided to call a practitioner, and I was instantaneously healed of bowel and female trouble, also of rheumatism.

Since then I have had many beautiful demonstrations of this truth that makes free, one of which was in a case of poisoning. This happened about four months after I came into Science, while in Estes Park, Col., on an outing with my husband and some relatives. The first manifestation appeared on my face presented a distressing appearance, and one eye was almost closed. There was so much fear expressed by my relatives that I, being new in Science, was unable to overcome it. I knew of no practitioner nearer than Denver, and I reached there five days after the mediately from the hotel for a practitioner, and I received help at once. In less than two weeks, notwithstanding the great fear manifested, I was entirely healed, without a this healing, also for the spiritual uplifting gained through the study of the Bible and Science and Health. It has made the Bible a new book to me, and the daily reading of the Lesson-Sermon is both a pleasure and a great help. The Christian Science literature is eagerly looked for and always welcome in our home.

I have found, as Mrs. Eddy says, that "divine Love always has met and always will meet every human has met and always will meet every human need" (Science and Health, p. 494). For all these blessings I am indeed grateful to God, and to Mrs. Eddy, to whom God gave this revelation of Truth.
