THE BOW IN THE CLOUD

While dwelling upon the innumerable blessings and wonders of Christian Science, the writer has frequently been reminded of the words, "I do set my bow in the cloud,"—a "token" of that covenant which was to be "for perpetual generations." We are all familiar with the beauty and brilliancy of a rainbow seen in the sky. Perhaps the day has been dark, the atmosphere heavily laden with moisture, causing a veil of mist to obscure the land-scape. To quote from a well known poet,—

All day the low-hung clouds have dropped
Their garnered fulness down;
All day that soft gray mist hath wrapped
Hill, valley, grove, and town.
