Last year in October I was taken ill with severe neuralgic trouble in the head. Nothing was left untried to alleviate the pain; I took the strongest medicines, and electric treatment was resorted to, but all without success. I was confined to my bed for six weeks, had no sleep on account of the pain, and as I could not take solid food—in fact I did not dare to do so, as according to the physician's statement other troubles might then set in—I became unable to stand on my feet. The physician, who had taken the greatest pains to restore my health, finally said that the trouble might last several months longer, and even then a relapse might occur any time. He said that the best advice he could give was for me to go to the hospital. This thought was dreadful to me, but man's extremity is often God's opportunity.

About this time my husband heard of Christian Science, and we asked a practitioner to call. After the first treatment I slept a few hours during the night; after the second treatment I was able to walk a little with assistance. After a few more treatments I could go out alone. The pain disappeared and I improved perceptibly. A slight relapse occurred once, but it was soon overcome. Since that time I have had many proofs of the power of divine Love. I also feel better than ever before. I cannot thank God enough that He has inspired Mrs. Eddy to give us the Christian Science text-book, Science and Health, which shows us the way to health and happiness. I am daily striving to understand God better, that I may become and remain a good Christian woman.
