Christian Scientists do believe in a remedy, but not in the use of material remedies. Their remedy is to turn unreservedly in the time of physical as well as mental distress to God, who, as David said, "healeth all thy diseases; who forgiveth all thine iniquities." Christian Scientists, therefore, do believe in prayer. They are learning to "pray without ceasing," and, furthermore, they have abundant proof on every hand that the right kind of prayer is efficacious.
