Christian Science teaches that man has no more right to suffer than he has to submit to sin. If sin and sickness are real, that is, are part of the creation of one infinite God, or good, they could not be destroyed; if, however, they are not true, that is, no part of the divine economy, as was clearly proved by the Master, it is our privilege and duty to destroy or heal them in the way he taught. Christian Science teaches that mankind can only be freed from the belief of sin and sickness through a better, more spiritual and scientific understanding of Him whom to know aright is "life eternal." Physical health, then, is the necessary outcome of a better understanding of the teachings of the Master; and as Mrs. Eddy has written on page 2 of "Rudimental Divine Science" : "Healing physical sickness is the smallest part of Christian Science. It is only the bugle-call to thought and action, in the higher range of infinite goodness. The emphatic purpose of Christian Science is the healing of Sin."
