Many years ago I learned of Christian Science, but like thousands of others I made no practical use of it, until about seven years ago, when I had a stomach trouble which seemed to affect my entire system. The distress caused by this condition is indescribable. Three doctors failed to cure me, and one of them said he could do me no good. I was far from home, and the doctors told others that if I had a home, I had best go there, for my time was short. Soon after this I took Christian Science treatment, which helped me so much that I began to feel encouraged, and in a short time I was restored to good health. I remained so for several years, but in the winter of 1907 I was taken seriously ill. I was not myself at all. I was nearly crazed with pain. Both ears were discharging, and I was almost totally deaf, and besides this had bowel trouble. As my wife was ill at the same time I was in a most deplorable condition, but thanks to Christian Science I was restored to health in a short time, and my hearing is now as keen as ever. I think I surprised one of my good friends, who had told me not to trust Christian Science too far, when he saw that I had been healed by it alone.
