I feel it a privilege to tell what Christian Science has done and is doing for me each day. I first became interested through physical healing, and then came a desire to know how this healing was accomplished. For years I had suffered with stomach and chronic bowel trouble. For days at a time I could eat nothing without suffering intense pain. I did not even try to eat more than two meals a day, and many days but one. I was taken to the hospital for an operation on the head. After the second operation I had a severe hemorrhage, and two doctors said that I could not possibly live—every hour seemed as if it would be the last. When life was apparently almost gone, the doctor injected a solution into the breast to stimulate the heart action. This resulted in an angry sore, which seemed as if it would never heal. All this time I had not been able to take any food into the stomach, and could not raise my head from the pillow or turn my body in any way myself. The trained nurse who cared for me could easily pick me up in her arms and move me, for I was so terribly reduced in flesh.

As a last resort, a Christian Science practitioner was called. After giving me a treatment, she told the nurse to give me something to eat. A bowl of soup was quickly prepared and enjoyed—enjoyed only as one nearly starved to death could enjoy food. In three days I was eating heartily of solid food, anything I wanted. It was not long before I could sit up in an easy-chair—my progress was very rapid and wonderful, so every one said. The stomach was all right, but the ear did not heal, neither did the sore which had resulted from the solution. One morning I discovered a small piece of bone working out from my ear; later several more came, one after the other. Finally the last bit came away and the place healed. These splinters were left at the time I was operated upon. The breast was also perfectly healed and I laid aside the glasses which I had worn for several years. I now eat anything and everything I want, with no injurious effect.

I am very grateful for the care so lovingly bestowed upon me through those dark days. The Bible is studied more faithfully and with greater enjoyment than it used to be. Science and Health teaches me every day to be a truer and kinder woman, to love God more and to try and have others receive the wonderful help that has come to me.
