APPRECIATION OF THE MONITOR

The following letter, received by our Leader from a Christian Scientist at Wilmington, Del., is typical of the many expressions of appreciation of The Christian Science Monitor that find their way to Mrs. Eddy and to the Publishing Society, letters which show that the promises made in behalf of this paper, prior to its publication, are being fulfilled. The letter reads as follows:—

Wilmington, Del., May 6, 1909.
Mrs. Mary Baker Eddy, Boston, Mass.

Beloved Leader:—It is with great gratitude that I wish to express to you my appreciation of our daily newspaper, the Monitor. Not only do we get all the news worth having, but we know when we read an item in the Monitor that it is to be depended upon; we are not obliged to take our news, as heretofore, with "a grain of salt." I also wish to thank you for the Christian Science articles on the "Home Forum" page. They have been of great assistance to me in bringing to mind topics for the Wednesday evening meetings; for instance, the one in Tuesday's paper, entitled "Ask, Seek, Knock," suggested a theme which, when carried out in the Bible and Science and Health selections, called forth many expressions of gratitude from the congregation.
