Many times I have desired to express my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for a right understanding of God and His word contained in the Bible, as explained in her book, Science and Health. Before coming to Christian Science I employed the best doctors known and took their medicines, also using an inhaler for catarrhal trouble. I was under medical treatment constantly for eight years, and instead of getting better I was worse than I had ever been. My life seemed to be nothing but hopeless misery until I found healing through Christian Science. I need not say that I have never returned to medicine since, and I have the best of health. I find in Christian Science a much pleasanter way of living—in realizing, with the psalmist, that "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."
