I wish to relate how Christian Science healed me

I wish to relate how Christian Science healed me. Last winter I was taken ill, and was so helpless that I could not move. My daughters called in a physician, who said I had influenza; that I was suffering from the weakness of old age, and that my heart was weak. He told them to call my other children home, because my time had come, and to mortal sense this seemed to be so. I then took treatment in Christian Science, and that same night I slept peacefully and naturally. Before this treatment was given I was unconscious most of the time. When I awoke from that first sleep I felt so happy, and could move and turn over in bed. In one week I was up.

I had been a member of an orthodox church for fifty-five years, but I had never found this spiritual peace which I have known since I began to try to live the life that Christian Science teaches us. I know I have much to do to lay off the old man, but like Paul, "forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."
