I have had many proofs of the healing power of Truth through Christian Science. Fever, and the numerous other ills which so many children seem to have while attending the public schools, have been overcome. The case which seemed most wonderful I will relate, hoping to destroy the fear of accidents. I was spending the day at a summer resort near our home, with my parents and younger sister. To please this sister I started to ride in one of the numerous places of amusement, but fell, striking heavily on my right hand. There was quite a crowd standing around and several people cried out that I had seriously injured my arm, for they said they heard something snap. My mother and father at once declared the truth, and we separated ourselves from the crowd as soon as possible. They worked for me, but I began to grow faint, and mother and I started for home. My father said I had better go to a surgeon and have the bone set, and on the way home my mother asked me if I wanted to go to a doctor, or to go home and trust to Truth, God, whom we had trusted for everything since we had learned how to do so, some four years before, through the reading of Science and Health. I said we would go home.

It was twelve o'clock that night before I was free from pain, but I fell asleep about that time. The next morning my arm presented an alarming appearance and mother was fearful at first, but she put the fear down and placed Science and Health in my other hand, telling me to read and do some mental work for myself. She was obliged to dress me and dress my hair for two days, but the third morning I was able to do this for myself, and when I went down-stairs into the dining-room mother looked up, a little surprised. All she could say was, "Thank God!" It was really three weeks before the swelling was entirely gone, but I had no pain after the third morning. This was four years ago, and I have never been troubled with this arm since.
