I feel that if I did not tell others of the wonderful help...

I feel that if I did not tell others of the wonderful help which I received recently, through the understanding of Christian Science, I would not deserve to have another blessing. Upon returning home from the morning service, I felt quite sick, with a general feeling of depression. As we do not hold an evening service, I always take that time to begin the study of the Lesson-Sermon for the following Sunday. I began to read it, and had finished only one section when I felt that it would be wise to lie down for a few moments; but as soon as I had done so I began to sink into oblivion. Then this passage from the 8th chapter of Acts, came to me, "And Saul was consenting unto his [Stephen's] death." In an instant I was upon my feet, declaring that there is no death, that all is Life, God, as we are taught in Science and Health; and that nothing could hinder me from doing my duty to God and to mankind. I again took my books, and finished the study of the Lesson, besides preparing my Wednesday evening reading. I was well! healed, absolutely harmonious, with a higher and clearer sense than I have ever known.

I am indeed grateful to God, and to Mrs. Eddy for Science and Health, and for the better understanding of the Scriptures it has enabled me to gain. The Bible Lessons in "Miscellaneous Writings" have been such a help to me many times, and I feel that the only way I can show my gratitude acceptably is to strive to do better work. The wonderful work of our Leader inspires us with courage to press on, and God will answer our prayers—"right desires"—with more light.
