When I was five years of age my ankle became affected with paralytic trouble, and for about two months I was unable to take a step. My parents tried everything, hoping to find relief; but although I walked again, that ankle was never secure, so I received many serious falls. I also suffered constant pain in some part of my body. My eyes became very weak, and a specialist said I would always have to wear glasses, which I did constantly for five years. Then the paralytic trouble appeared in my face. I would go to bed at night wishing that I might sleep on; then the thought would come that I could not leave my mother, who had been a never-failing help during all those weary years, but to-day those years of pain and sorrow seem to me as a dream.

A dear friend, knowing I was in need of help, asked me to try Christian Science; which I did, and in it have found strength and peace. I laid aside my glasses, never to need them again. In the past eleven years God has never failed me in anything when I have trusted Him absolutely. Christian Science teaches that God is no respecter of persons, and I know that divine Love is for us all if we will only open our doors to receive that aid. I trust that this experience may help to lift some one out of darkness into light, even as I have been lifted. My gratitude to God, and to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, increases each hour for the many blessings which have come to me; and my daily prayer is that I may be humble enough to "love away" all that is unlike God, all that is not good, so that only what is real and eternal may appear in my life.
