Words cannot express the gratitude I feel for Christian Science,...

Words cannot express the gratitude I feel for Christian Science, and for what it has done for me and mine. For eleven years, from the age of seventeen, I was under a doctor's care most of the time, and I am grateful to those kind old doctors for having such patience with me and trying so hard to relieve me; but finally two of them said they could do nothing more, as I was going with lung trouble. One said I might not live three months, certainly not more than a year; the other told my husband he could do me no good, but might give me some relief with an opiate, which he did administer for several months, sometimes in double doses before any relief came. I also suffered with such severe head-aches that it was feared I would become insane.

During those days of trial and great suffering we had friends who tried very hard to induce us to turn to Christian Science, but we only laughed at them. At last, just to please them, we tried it, and we can never thank them enough for their patience in never giving up until we were persuaded to try and to prove for ourselves that the half has never been told, nor ever can be. About three weeks after taking my first treatment all symptoms of the lung trouble disappeared, and it has never returned. Relief from headaches came immediately. About two years ago our little daughter, then nine years old, seemed as though she would pass on, but through the help of a kind practitioner she was restored to us in perfect health and has been well ever since, for which we give God the glory, and to our beloved Leader. Mrs. Eddy, we are deeply grateful.
