I wish to tell in a few words what Christian Science...
I wish to tell in a few words what Christian Science has done for me, although it seems impossible for me to express my love and gratitude to God, and to Mrs. Eddy, for the good I have received. It is almost two years since this blessed truth came to me and my home. I had been taking all kinds of medicine, although I never found any help in drugs, but IO can truly say that I am a different woman since I began to study Christian Science. I am well now all the time, and would not think of using material remedies. I am much happier, too, than when I believed in material ways and means and was sick so much of the time. I wish that all the world would turn to this healing truth.
Martishia Hilliard, Black Bear, Idaho.
My heart overflows with gratitude to God for Christian Science, when I think of all the benefits I have received through it. About three years ago I suffered from a severe attack of illness, supposed to be from poison oak; every time I ventured into the canyon I seemed to take this dreadful disease, till at last I thought I would never be able to go to the mountains again. My whole body would be in a dreadful condition for days, and each time I became worse and worse. I tried several different remedies without any benefit, and at last I made up my mind to try Christian Science. I went to a practitioner and received treatment for not quite a week. With the first two treatments the swelling and rash began to disappear, and before the end of the week I was as well as ever. About two weeks after this I had occasion to go into the canyon, and on our way up there the poison oak hung out over both sides of the road. When we reached our destination I wanted some mistletoe which I saw in a tree, and asked my father to get it for me. My mother then said, "Why do you not get it yourself? You have learned that if you do not fear the poison it will not harm you." I went right in among the poison oak, and it never troubled me any more than if it were a weed by the wayside. I now go to the mountains several times every summer, but have never since then suffered in the way mentioned.
