I wish to express my gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me and mine. It is over three years and a half since I first heard of it, and at that time we had a great deal of sickness in our family. One child, a boy of thirteen years, was suffering from a severe stomach trouble, and the last time I went to see the doctor he told me the child could never be cured, but that he could be helped. I came home with a very heavy heart, thinking over what the doctor had said, for it seemed as if the child was growing worse all the time, and only a few days later he said he could not stand the pain any longer. I did not know the real meaning of prayer until that moment, but my thought went out to a God I had never known before, and I asked Him to show me what to do for this child or to let me suffer for him. My prayer was indeed answered, for the next day a lady came to see me and asked me if I had ever heard of Christian Science and how it healed the sick. I said I had not, and asked if she herself healed the sick. To this she answered, "No; not I, but God." This to me seemed an answer to my prayer, and I asked her to take the case at once. In two weeks the child was perfectly healed, and to-day he is strong and healthy. Our youngest boy had a very severe attack of fever, but in less than three weeks he was perfectly healed, and there were none of the after-effects which materia medica claims must follow this disease. I myself had suffered for five years from an ailment that was distressing, and would have had to undergo an operation had I not known of Christian Science, but I, too, was healed in a very short while.

To me all these physical healings seemed marvelous, but the spiritual uplifting is indeed more wonderful, for it brings to us a deeper sense of Love, as our Master taught and demonstrated. I had never been interested in the Bible before coming into Christian Science, but to-day the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, have become a great light to me. My daily prayer is to learn more and more of this glorious truth, that I may some day be worthy to be called a true Christian Scientist. I am indeed very grateful to God for all our blessings, and grateful to our dear Leader for bringing this truth to suffering humanity.
