We have had many reminders in the Sentinel that we should be doers and helpers as well as beneficiaries. This prompts me to testify to some of the blessings enjoyed by me through Christian Science. Never well as a child, my troubles beginning when I was less than two years old. I did not know what good health was until it was gained by the understanding of this truth and by the help of a Christian Science practitioner. At the time I learned of Christian Science I was suffering from catarrhal troubles which were most unpleasant at all times, summer and winter, and which were affecting my sense of hearing and of smell. After this was destroyed in the head. what seemed a more serious form appeared elsewhere, but these troubles were all overcome in Christian Science. A case of abdominal trouble with many complications was also overcome. I am now in perfect health and often spoken of as looking remarkably well.
In all the problems of daily life I have been helped by the understanding of what God's relation to His children is, as taught by our Leader, and I am led to say, "Not my will, but thine, be done," knowing that God's will is everlasting good to them that trust Him. In all ages the ability to heal has been the proof of man's understanding of God, as cited all through the Old and New Testaments, and Christian Scientists have many assurances that they are wise in following their Leader, who has again brought this revelation of healing to those who have ears to hear.
I have every reason to believe that I owe my life, health, and happiness to Christian Science, and having in the past been able to be of some help to others, I intend to show my gratitude by being more active and faithful in the future.
