With the most grateful feeling of love and reverence for...
With the most grateful feeling of love and reverence for our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, I would like to tell of a very wonderful healing through Christian Science. We had in our family a premature baby, weighing less than two pounds. There seemed to be a very small spark of vitality to start with, and the physician said there was possibly one chance in a hundred for the little one to live. She did not sleep at night, and at ten months we were able to note very little improvement. At that time she was taken very sick, so we called in another doctor and he said she could not possibly live. He was giving four or five kinds of medicine, but she improved very little and we took her to the country, staying until September. From June until September there were very few days in which she did not have fever. At eighteen months of age she had perfect use of her hands and arms but she did not use her legs at all. As we were almost desperate from sorrow and loss of sleep, we decided to try Christian Science (it was the last hope), and in less than three weeks' treatment we could see a decided change. She was sleeping better, was able to take more nourishment, and the drawn and haggard expression had left the little face, which had looked more like marble than anything else. From this time on she gained every day and at the age of five years she is an average child in size, with bright eyes and rosy cheeks, and she has never taken any medicine since having Christian Science. How we love her, and how we love the Science which taught us the truth that healed her. If we love our children, how much more our Father loves His children. I love the text which reads: "And a little child shall lead them."
