I wish to bear testimony to the healing power of Christian Science...

I wish to bear testimony to the healing power of Christian Science in case of accident. In August, 1907, my little daughter, eight years old, was riding on her bicycle, when an automobile coming down the street made a sharp turn around a corner and ran into her. It happened but a stone's throw from our home, and my son picked the little one up. On reaching the house it was found she was seriously hurt, and her whole appearance was most alarming. Almost as soon as the child was in the house a physician came to the door, proffering his services, and was astonished when they were declined. I thanked him, but told him that she was being cared for. I might say here that the whole family are Christian Scientists, and we had been able to know the truth concerning the ailments of the children, but this seemed to be something which called for help. I telephoned to a practitioner, who came at once to the house, and in a very short time after the happening the child's face began to brighten, the swelling of the head went down, the loosened teeth were pressed back into place, and a ring was cut off the hand which had been badly injured. After being treated the child was asked if she had any pain. She replied, "No, not a bit," and smiled at the practitioner. Her gums were black the first day or so, but about the third day we had green corn on the table for dinner, and she delighted all of us by biting the corn off the ear. In a few days not the slightest trace was left of a severe cut she had received on the hip, and the hand has healed entirely. There is another beautiful demonstration which I should like to tell about. I was reading Mrs. Eddy's "Unity of Good," and was instantaneously healed of what materia medica had pronounced a serious affection of the eyelids. Years ago my husband had been treated by a physician almost a year for the same ailment, and had to wear smoked glasses for a long time.

I have had many beautiful demonstrations of the power of Truth for which I cannot find words to express my thankfulness, but for all these and many more blessings I thank God, and feel love and gratitude toward our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who has made clear to us man's birthright.—Mrs. Lillie B. Stinsmeyer, St. Louis, Mo.
