Something over two years ago I came to know of the healing power of Christian Science. Prior to the birth of twins I was under a physician's treatment for a long time, he visiting me twice daily. I spent the most of my time in bed, and was taking medicine every hour, but with no change for the better. I had a high fever, was extremely weak and emaciated, and ate but very little. Finally I reached the point where I felt that something had to be done, as I could not continue in that condition. A few months previous to this time a friend had told me of Christian Science, and while I had read but very little about it, I was ready to try almost anything. I wrote to a practitioner about my condition, and she at once gave me absent treatment. I began to improve, and in less than a month I was able to make the trip from Denton, Md., where I had been staying, to my home in Cumberland, without any inconvenience whatever. Three weeks after my arrival there the babies were born. I had absent treatment again, and the birth was perfectly natural. The third day I sat up in a chair and the babies and I got along as nicely as could be. I had a good appetite and ate heartily all the time. Later in the winter the little girl was taken with a very bad cold, hard coughing, high fever, etc. I immediately telegraphed to the practitioner, and she was relieved in a short time. The little boy was also threatened in the same way, but was relieved before it got a hold on him. Neither one of them has ever had a drop of medicine in any form. Other members of my family have also been greatly benefited in many ways, and we owe much to Christian Science.
