I have long felt a desire to tell what Christian Science has done for me. Five years ago last November Christian Science found me at what seemed to be death's door, owing to severe stomach and kidney trouble, extreme nervousness, ovarian trouble, and other ills too numerous to mention. The doctors told my husband that my condition was most serious. I was sick two and a half years and was treated by seven different physicians. I continued to grow worse steadily, and finally the doctor stated that he had done all that could be done for me, as my trouble had affected the spine and brain. I had at this time slept but little for six weeks, and could not lie down. I had a friend who had been healed through Christian Science, and she finally at this juncture prevailed upon me to accept treatment. She came and talked with me, and read from Science and Health, the text-book of Christian Science. As a result, I lay down that night for the first time in weeks, and rested well all night. My healing was slow from this time on, but I was never tempted to go back to material means. For the spiritual uplifting, and for the great joy of ministering to others by way of healing the sick and comforting the sorrowing through the understanding of the truth that healed me, I am deeply grateful to God, and to our beloved Leader.

Before I was healed by Christian Science I had not known a well day for years. About two years ago I was taken down with a severe sickness. The first physician we called gave me no relief and he was dismissed. The second attended me eleven weeks, and I was gradually growing worse. My suffering was beyond description. All the rest I had was during the time I was under the influence of morphine. The physicians said I had an incurable kidney disease, with complications, and that my life was a question of but a few days. My family, friends, and neighbors realized the distressing conditions only too well. At this point we decided to try Christian Science treatment. My son telephoned to Des Moines to a practitioner, asking help for me. Within forty-eight hours I was absolutely free from pain and could sit up in bed, and within a few days I could walk. My gain was rapid and complete. I am a woman of sixty-three years, and am now strong and well. I stopped the use of morphine and all medicine the day the practitioner began to treat me. I will give the details of my case, and the names of the physicians who attended me to any person who may ask for them.
