I am full to overflowing with thanksgiving to God, the giver of all good gifts, and to Mrs. Eddy, His interpreter and our beloved Leader, for the truth which has led me step by step to the throne of grace. More than a year ago I was brought to Science through bodily suffering, after every material remedy had failed. But it is not of that I wish to write, for it has been overshadowed by the love, peace, and rest found in the "secret place of the most High." After coming into Christian Science I asked that my name be erased from the membership list of an orthodox church to which I had belonged since childhood, for I had learned that the "new wine" could not be put into "old bottles" without bursting them. Since I have acknowledged the undivided garment of Truth it has been manifested to me very forcibly that God is the only Mind. Mrs. Eddy tells us in Science and Health (p. 31), that "pride and fear are unfit to bear the standard of Truth, and God will never place it in such hands."
