Christian Science came to me as an answer to prayer and a sincere desire to know God aright. Some Journals were sent to me about seven years ago, which I read in the hope of finding healing for a distressing ailment; but the spiritual teaching appealed most to me, because I wanted to know how to make practical the teaching of Jesus. I desired to be a missionary, to work for the cause of Christ and humanity, and the Scriptural admonition to seek "first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness," and to come out from the world and "be separate," often came to me. I have been encouraged by reading in our periodicals testimonies of slow growth by others. Each season the ailment is less, and through the study of Science and Health, and help from practitioners, I have been freed from other troubles. I hope to prove my gratitude to God, and to our dear Leader, by faithful daily work.
