It was in 1902 that I first noticed my wife had a growth on her face. It remained for months and gradually grew worse. My nephew, who is a physician at this place, examined it and pronounced it serious. He advised her to go to some hospital and have it removed, as the knife would be the only thing that would do the work. My wife and I talked it over and I advised her to go, but also told her that I wished her to decide this matter herself. That very day she wrote to a Christian Science practitioner in Kansas City for treatment, and it was but a very short time until she was entirely well. At the time she wrote for treatment the growth looked very angry and was spreading fast. I am not a Christian Scientist, and was very uneasy about the condition of my wife, but gladly state that I rejoiced at the healing. I feel assured that Christian Science healed her, as she could not be persuaded to have any other treatment. It is wonderful that not even a scar is left. My wife is the only one who believes in Christian Science in this village.
