In 1898, while camping out and overseeing my logging outfit at a sawmill in Indian Territory, I was prostrated by an acute attack of rheumatic trouble. For fifty-two days and nights I never slept, except under the influence of opiates. I suffered untold agony and during this affliction I lost the sight of my right eye. Besides this, I remained a cripple until last December, when I had the good fortune to get acquainted with a follower of our grand Leader, Mrs. Eddy. After entering upon this treatment I commenced to improve in health, and lost all relish for tobacco, to which I had been a slave for thirty-five years. I had suffered from stomach trouble for years, but now can eat anything I please and sleep like a child, go about my daily tasks and work harder than I have been able to do in years. I have improved so wonderfully that my acquaintances inquire the cause, and I tell them that it is Christian Science. Only to-day I discovered another wonderful proof of Truth's power. When a young man my left foot was terribly cut, and in consequence I lost the use of the toes; now I can move them, something I have been unable to do since the wound healed. I am in a constant state of awe, wonder, and gratitude for my marvelous cure. May heaven shower its choicest blessings upon our dear Leader, is my prayer.
A. W. Clark, Mena, Ark.
