After a number of years of constant suffering, resulting in a stiffened joint which rendered walking very difficult, painful, and impossible save only for a short distance, I have been cured by Christian Science to such a degree that a tramp of eight miles over the mountains is a delight, and I am able to go about my business without being burdened with crutches or groaning with pain. In my left knee I had but slight motion, in appearance it did not bear the semblance of a human knee-joint, and not for a moment was it free from pain. To-day it is almost normal in size and shape, the knee-cap being both visible to the eye and free from adhesions, and there has not been a sense of pain in it since the first treatment I received from a Christian Science practitioner, about eight months ago. At that time I was a mere wreck in general health; to-day I am as well and competent as ever in my life.
Having spent twenty-five years of active life in the Christian ministry, I think it but fair to assume that I know what the subjective experiences of a Christian heart are. I surely do know and understand these things from the orthodox standpoint, but let me say that I never had an adequate idea of the real nature and quality of that peace "which passeth all understanding" until. through Christian Science, I found it in the knowledge of the allness of God, and was enabled to understand better the teachings of Jesus the Christ through the light shed upon them by that wonderful book. "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.
