I suffered from severe stomach trouble, and was under the care of physicians for a long time. My condition continued to grow worse, and finally I could eat only a few kinds of food. I asked the physician attending me at that time if there was anything more he could do, and he told me that he had done all he could for me, and advised me to go to Colorado. I was greatly depressed, was afraid of everything I ate, in fact I was in a state of great fear all the time. About this time a friend asked if I had ever heard of Christian Science. I replied that I had not, that I did not believe it would give me any relief, and declined to consider the subject further. I had about lost all hope of ever regaining my health. The disease was gradually reducing my strength and I had little or no confidence in God or man; but, "man's extremity is God's opportunity," and quite a long time after this I asked my friend if Christian Science really healed people. He informed me that it did, and that I could be healed. I very reluctantly called upon a practitioner, but in a short time I could eat every kind of food, and for over six years I have been well. During all this time Christian Science has been my only physician. For this and many other blessings I am deeply grateful,—thankful to God, and to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy.—F. Giles Smith, Pittsburg, Pa.
