I have been so much helped by reading the Sentinel and Journal, that I feel it but right to express my gratitude by telling their readers of the harmonious way a baby came to us recently. The birth was absolutely without pain of any kind. At first there was extreme discomfort, but this gradually lessened until the baby arrived. I was up every day in my room, and dressed and down for dinner on the fourth day. My mother treated me, and I also had a Christian Science nurse who was very helpful. To me the most beautiful part of the demonstration was the kindly attitude of the doctor. I had previously told him that the formality of engaging him was only to satisfy my husband, and explained clearly that the case was in the hands of my mother as a Christian Science practitioner. The doctor in no way tried to interfere, nor did he say anything disparaging to Christian Science; his whole attitude was one of kindness and good will.

Mrs. Eddy has made these things possible and brought nearer to the children of this age the blessing our Master bestowed on humanity. I am striving to show my deep gratitude to her by living in obedience to Christ's commands.

Hon. Mrs. Porter, Pilot View, Dalkey, Co. Dublin, Ire.
