I give this testimony with a deep sense of gratitude to God, and to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who has through her zeal and untiring efforts shown us how to know God as He really is. Her book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," I regard as an inspired book, and only those who have studied it and received benefits can testify to its true worth. Christ Jesus came to show us the way, and he not only told his disciples to preach the gospel, but to heal the sick.

My wife was cured of stomach trouble and severe headaches of years' standing by reading Science and Health for three days. Our two children aged two and ten respectively, came down with what seemed to be a very serious trouble, about twelve o'clock one night, but through our understanding of Truth's power and evil's unreality the illness was overcome in a very short time. At another time my face and neck were almost covered with an offensive eruption, but after a treatment by a Christian Science practitioner my face was healed so that I could be shaved the next morning. At another time I was reading a Christian Science Sentinel, and almost without realizing what I was doing I threw away some tobacco which I was using, and I have never had the least desire for it since, and that was three years ago. Our baby is a year old and has never had any medicine or doctor. An ailment common to infancy was met almost instantly by Christian Science.—A. O. Patchin, Englewood, Ill.
