It was through my mother's healing, which took place about nine years ago, that we became interested in Christian Science. She was an invalid for years, suffering with severe nervous trouble, besides many other ailments. Her condition was so bad that for two years she never smiled and could only move her eyes with difficulty. At times she was unable to speak or to walk, and at night had to be carried to her room. Her body was very much distorted, and for five years she suffered constantly. Besides the regular doctors she had had magnetic rubbing, massage, and electric treatment, the last being tried more or less for years, even to spending months in an electrical institute; but she did not improve, her eyesight becoming even worse, with all the symptoms of blindness. In short, we tried all the remedies known to us at that time, but were unable to find anything that would bring about the desired healing until we investigated Christian Science and had treatment for her from a practitioner.

After a few treatments in Christian Science she was healed of the trouble in her face and was able to see, smile, and speak with perfect ease. This gave us great encouragement, and we then felt sure that the other troubles would also disappear. The rest of her healing came gradually, until she had completely recovered and could stand and walk perfectly erect. From this time she has been able to perform all the household and other necessary duties. My father, who had suffered with catarrhal trouble for many years, was healed simply by studying the Christian Science Lesson-Sermons, and my brother was cured of a severe nervous disease in a very few treatments. We have had a great many demonstrations, proving to us the efficacy of Christian Science to heal different forms of disease, and we feel that we never can express too much gratitude for the many benefits we have derived from our knowledge of this truth.—Muriel Glendenning, Toronto, Ontario.
