The New Street Improvements

Concord (N. H.) Evening Monitor

The members of the city government have, we think, shown excellent judgment in their prompt action taking advantage of the generous offer for the improvement of North State Street. It is good business, always, to buy gold dollars for fifty cents, and that is exactly what the present proposition amounts to. It would be hard to name a single improvement which would add so much to the externals of the city just now as the proposed work upon Main and State Streets. These are the front windows of Concord, so to speak; and it is wise policy for a small city, like a small store, to get the attractive goods into the front windows.

Concord people who appreciate the development of the city will throughly approve of what the city government has done in this matter; and they will gratefully remember the generous sources from which have come the means to make this desirable improvement immediately possible.
