[Written for the Sentinel.]

At-One With Thee

AT-ONE with Thee, upon the shore of time
We stand in silent awe, at-one with Thee!
And know Love is in all eternity
The only law sublime.

There is no hand upon the salt sea-spray
But Love's alone, and on the starry sky
To guide Arcturus in his majesty
Upon his splendid way.

To Thee, alone to Thee, the ravens cry
To feed their callow brood, and in the deep
By Thee leviathan his young doth keep;
Thou art their sure supply.

At-one with the sustaining infinite,
The Principle at-one with its idea,
The morn of time above the sapphire sea
Ariseth pure and white.

At-one with Thee, upon the morning's wing.
Our hopes achieved, and free from earth's alarms,
Leaning upon Thine everlasting arms
Our eyes shall see the King.
