In February, 1905, I had a severe attack of the grip, combined with nervous prostration, which rendered me perfectly helpless. I used all the means prescribed for such ailments without receiving any benefit, and while in a hopeless condition the thought of Christian Science, as a Divine help for sin, sickness, and death, came to me, and I immediately sent for a practitioner. When she entered the room I began to depict the awful state into which my trouble had seemingly plunged me, although I had been a consistent member of the church for fifty-five years; but when I continued to reiterate my calamities, the practitioner, with a sweet smile of assurance, remarked that it was useless to repeat my woes; that I should dry my tears of sorrow, for divine Love ever meets the needs of humanity. She gave me treatment, my health was restored, and I am now in a better condition both physically and spiritually than ever before. Christian Science has illumined the pages of my dear old Bible, which I have read through consecutively twelve times. Since embracing Christian Science, I have read Science and Health in connection with the Bible, and find it a source of comfort beyond anything I have ever known. I feel sure that in time the Principle revealed through our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, will govern the hearts and sentiments of all humanity.
Language is inadequate to express my gratitude to God for my restoration to health, and for revealing to my benighted sense the truth which has set me free from sin, sickness, and the fear of death.
Mrs. M. J. Maulding, Marshall, Tex.
