My blessings in Christian Science have been more than...
My blessings in Christian Science have been more than tongue or pen can express. I was an invalid for five years, treated by several of our best physicians, had electric and magnetic treatment, but gained only temporary relief, indeed was sometimes worse than before the treatment. When Christian Science found me I was waiting patiently for my heavenly Father to take me where I believed I would at last be free from pain. A dear friend and neighbor then told me of Christian Science, and said that through its teachings people were being healed in the same way that Jesus healed. I at once took up the study of Science and Health, but I was very incredulous about its being the true Christ-teaching. I, however, prayed earnestly that if it were not the truth I would not be healed. I continued to study and to compare the teachings of Science and Health with the Bible, also to put them into practice according to my understanding. I soon found myself improving and able to walk about the house. Thus the spiritual light came into my consciousness, and I was healed of what the physicians had called a fibroid growth, a diseased spine, and sciatic rheumatism in a very bad form. After being unable to walk for two years, my gratitude was unbounded when I again found myself able to walk where I pleased. I have had many demonstrations of the power of Truth, one of which I wish to tell. In going down from the porch I slipped at the third step, which threw me to the ground, turning my foot under me in such a manner as to cause a very bad sprain. I immediately declared the truth, and the pain and soreness were entirely overcome the same day.
My heart overflows with gratitude to God for this blessed truth, also to the one whose purity made her an open channel to carry this water of Life to all mankind. Only the pure in heart can see God.—Mrs. Anna Inman, Jackson, Mich.
