I feel that it is not right for me to delay longer in sending my testimony, thus withholding from our Leader, who has labored so lovingly for all mankind, the expression of gratitude due her. Christian Science was first presented to me when a great sorrow was weighing me down, and it brought peace and comfort to my aching heart, lifting my thought from death to Life. It was not, however, until a year later, that I was given a copy of Science and Health by a friend. I then took up the study with the help of our Quarterly. From the start I loved to read and study it, but the understanding came to me slowly, and it was two years before I gained enough to work for myself and family. Prior to this, I had been an invalid for fifteen years, and some of the children were always sick. We had medicines of various descriptions, but gave them all up; and we have never regretted the step taken, for as a remedial agency we have found Christian Science more efficacious and pleasant than any other remedy. I wish to thank our Publishing Society for their efficient labors, and the brethren throughout the Field for their loving contributions to our periodicals, which come each week and month into our homes, bringing rays of light and dispelling many dark clouds. The Lesson-Sermons are my daily food, and are very precious to me. We have had many proofs of God's presence and power in our home, and my daily prayer is for a willing and contrite heart, to do God's will at all times.—Virginia R. Raum, Crawford, Neb.
