In May, 1891, I first heard of Christian Science
In May, 1891, I first heard of Christian Science. At that time the doctors had passed the verdict on me that I would not live over a year, possibly not six months. On Sunday Christian Science was first mentioned to me, and the next day went to a practitioner—an all-day journey. On Tuesday, I commenced treatment. On Thursday I walked over two miles and back, something I had not been able to do for several years. The following Monday I walked six miles and back without sitting down, and was not fatigued. The next day I commenced work at carpentering, and I have not lost one day since on account of sickness. One morning, this summer, I cut my foot just below the instep, the gash being nearly an inch and a half long. It bled profusely. The next night I put on a shoe and walked several blocks to meeting. I continued to wear my shoe, and the only remedy used was the truth. This physical healing is only a small matter to the spiritual uplifting I have received. I am truly grateful to Mrs. Eddy for all of her writings, also for the Sentinel and Journal.
Henry Hazen, Marion, O.
