I used to be very bigoted with respect to Christian Science, but a relative sent me a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and the Sentinel, for a Christmas present. Later, she mailed me an old Christian Science Journal. I was then in bed, unable even to be dressed, but somehow I found this Journal in my hands and began to read. One article stated that God has all power in heaven and in earth. This I firmly believed, because it is taught in the Bible. I began to think it over, and it occurred to me that my five diseases could not have any power, since God has all the power. I read on, and learned that God's will meant that only good should come to us, and I was very willing to pray "Thy will be done" and have good come to me. I began firmly to believe that it was God's will for me to live, to have perfect health, and to care for my children.
In three weeks I was doing my own housework. God had healed me. I did not then know about taking treatments and I did not seem to understand Science and Health, but used the thought above referred to, and believed it.
How I thank God, and also Mrs. Eddy, and those who sent me the literature. I had lost all faith in drugs, although my parents had been engaged in the drug business for about twenty-four years.
